How Long Does It Take Before You'll Date Someone? *Venting*

So, a few weeks ago, I was with friends and on OkCupid at the same time and I was talking about how I had turned down some guy and they asked why and I said because I barely know them.
My one friend got all condescending and shit about how people date strangers all the time and how if he goes to a party he doesn't stay to himself and shit like that.

Fuck you, do I look like I'm the same as everyone else? You're a fucking extrovert, I'm an introvert. We have very obvious differences and I don't need someone being condescending to me about how I do stuff as opposed to actually trying to understand why I do what I do.
I want to fucking build a solid friendship with someone before I fucking start a relationship with them so fucking excuse me for not just jumping into something with the first guy that comes along. Not to mention I have to have actual interest in someone to date them. (That could easily segue into talking about the friend zone but I'll save that for maybe another post if I can remember to get around to it)

Sorry for how angry that seemed but that's everything I didn't get to say to my friend.

I was thinking about this today because I'm currently talking to another guy on OkC that I've only known for a number of days and I turned him down today for the same reason, so I started to remember this and now I'm curious as to how many people wait to jump into something with someone they just met, or how many wait to see how things would work.

Also, I guess another thing about jumping into something with someone on OkC is that I'd rather get to know them to make sure they're not gonna turn out to be this dangerous creep irl if we start a sudden relationship and then decide to meet up somewhere. I mean, it's different when you meet someone irl and decide to jump into something with them because you can tell they are who they really say they are (unless they're putting on a front and have abusive tendencies in private) but with someone online you can't really tell who it is unless you webcam each other. They could be a total catfish and a dangerous one at that. Not to mention that sometimes it could wind up being someone who's just messing with you online and hitting on you for shits and giggles.
Idk, maybe I just tend to be paranoid and over-think this a bit? I just prefer to really know a person and have real feelings for them before I start something with them, y'know? I don't think I'm in the wrong for that.
